Train it in TheoriaAbout the Everglades Variation
The Everglades Variation, 3...f5, is a named branch of the Brooklyn Variation. After the knight retreat, Black advances the f-pawn instead of playing the customary ...d6. The pawn controls e4 and gains space on the kingside, but it leaves Black with only one advanced pawn against White's e5 and d4. It also loosens the e6-square and the e8–h5 diagonal at a moment when Black's pieces are still on their home squares.
