Train it in TheoriaAbout the Shy Attack
The Shy Attack is a named formation within Anderssen's Opening rather than a line with established theory. After 1. a3 e5 2. g3 d5 3. Bg2 Nf6 4. d3 Nc6 5. Nd2 Bd6 6. e3 O-O 7. h3, White has fianchettoed and pushed pawns only one square, while Black has occupied the center with e5 and d5, developed both knights and the bishop to d6, and castled. White resembles a cramped reversed Pirc or Hippopotamus, with Black comfortably developed.
