Train it in TheoriaAbout the Dlugy Variation
The Dlugy Variation meets 4...a6 with 5. f3, which prepares e4 with the f-pawn rather than with the knight used in the Zaitsev System. Black most often takes with 5...axb5, and after 6. e4 Qa5+ 7. Bd2 b4 8. Na3 d6 9. Nc4 Qd8 the position is assessed as level. The main alternatives are 5...g6 and 5...d6. The line is uncommon. Engines rate it as roughly balanced, and White scores somewhat better in online games.
