Train it in TheoriaAbout the Franco-Sicilian Hybrid
The Franco-Sicilian Hybrid reaches a Modern Benoni pawn structure by an unusual route. Black opens 1...e6, as in the French, then strikes with 2...c5 in Sicilian fashion. After 3. d5 exd5 4. cxd5 d6 5. Nc3 g6 6. e4 Bg7 7. Nf3 the knight goes to e7 rather than f6, leaving the g7-bishop's diagonal and the f-pawn unobstructed. White keeps the d5–e4 center, while Black has the half-open e-file.
