Train it in TheoriaAbout the Lopez Gambit
The Lopez Gambit comes from the Lopez Variation of the Classical Defense, 2...Bc5 3. Qe2. After 3...Nc6 4. c3 Nf6, White plays 5. f4, offering the f-pawn in the manner of the King's Gambit. The queen on e2 protects e4 against the knight on f6. The pawn on c3 prepares d4, so that if Black captures on f4, White can aim to rebuild a broad center with gain of time. The line is classified under ECO C23.
