About the Pachman Gambit

The Pachman Gambit answers the Berlin Defense, 2...Nf6, with 3. Ne2, which leaves the e4-pawn unprotected. After 3...Nxe4, White plays 4. Nec3 and brings the knight to c3, where it challenges the centralized black knight. The f-pawn is not blocked by a knight on f3. Black is a pawn ahead, and White's compensation lies in quicker development and the half-open e-file. The idea resembles the Boden-Kieseritzky Gambit, except that the knight reaches c3 from e2 rather than from b1 with another on f3.
