About the Keidansky Gambit

The Keidansky Gambit arises when Black accepts the Urusov Gambit with 4...Nxe4 and White replies 5. Qxd4. The queen recaptures in the center, the e-file opens, and White is a pawn down. The engine rates the position roughly balanced. The retreat 5...Nf6 is the most common reply, and White then seeks compensation through rapid development and queenside castling. Against 5...Nd6, White answers 6. O-O and scores heavily in practice.
