About the Mad Dog Attack

The Mad Dog Attack is White's 7. h4 in the Bogoljubow Defense of the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit, chosen after 6. Bc4 Bg7 instead of 7. Ne5 or quiet castling. Although already a pawn down, White postpones completing development and sends the h-pawn against the fianchettoed bishop and the shelter Black intends for the king, hoping to open the h-file. The resulting play is sharp and committal, with White's own king still uncastled.
