About the Zilbermints Gambit

The Zilbermints Gambit, 9. Kh1, arises when White meets 7...Nc6 8. O-O Nxd4 by giving up a second pawn rather than recovering material. The king leaves the g1–a7 diagonal, and White relies on development, the half-open e- and f-files and pressure on Black's kingside. The line scores well in practice but probably does not give enough for two pawns. The alternatives 8. a3 and 8. Qd2 are considered sounder ways to seek compensation.
