About the Martian Gambit

The Martian Gambit arises from the Classical Variation when White avoids the usual 5. Ng3 and plays 5. Ng5, aiming at e6 and f7. After 5...Bg6 6. N1f3 h6, the knight does not retreat but jumps to e6 with 7. Ne6. There it attacks the queen on d8 and the g7-pawn, yet it can be taken by the f7-pawn. White is offering a whole piece to open lines toward the black king.
