Train it in TheoriaAbout the Mieses Gambit
The Mieses Gambit, 3. Be3, develops the bishop instead of meeting the threat to e4. After the usual 3...dxe4, White continues 4. f3, offering a pawn for a development lead as in the Blackmar–Diemer Gambit. Engines slightly favor Black and also suggest 3...Qb6 and 3...Qa5+. Lichess results are nearly even. The line is an offbeat choice, and 3...Nf6 and 3...e6 score worse for Black than taking the pawn.
