A rare gambit against the Dutch Defense in which White follows the London-style 2. Bf4 and 2...e6 with 3. g4, offering a pawn to undermine f5.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Senechaud Gambit
The Senechaud Gambit arises when White meets 2...e6, played in reply to the London-style 2. Bf4 against the Dutch, with 3. g4. The g-pawn is put en prise to the f5-pawn. The aim is to deflect that pawn from its watch over e4 and to open lines against a kingside that 1...f5 has already loosened. The Krejcik Gambit, 2. g4, pursues the same idea, but here White has developed the dark-squared bishop before making the offer.
