Train it in TheoriaAbout the Queen's Indian Variation
The Queen's Indian Variation of the Anglo-Indian Defense arises when Black meets the English with ...e6, ...Nf6 and ...b6, fianchettoing the queen's bishop as in the Queen's Indian Defense. White answers with 4. e4, building a pawn center on c4 and e4 while keeping the d-pawn back. The move 5. Bd3 then reinforces e4 against the combined pressure of the b7-bishop and the f6-knight. White gains central space, and Black relies on piece pressure against the center rather than occupying it with pawns.
