About the Mazedonisch

The Mazedonisch is a rare sideline of the King's English. White answers 2...Nf6 with 3. f4, attacking the e5-pawn at once in the style of a King's Gambit instead of developing with 3. Nf3 or 3. g3. Black most often captures with 3...exf4. Other replies are 3...e4, which gains space and takes f3 from the knight, and 3...Nc6. Engines give Black a slight edge, though White scores well in the small sample of online games.
