A rare King's English line in which, after a double fianchetto and White's e3 and Nge2, Black develops 6...Be6 to put pressure on the c4-pawn.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Bremen-Hort Variation
The Bremen-Hort Variation is a branch of the Taimanov setup in which both sides have fianchettoed. White plays 5. e3 and 6. Nge2 instead of the d3 of the Closed System, which keeps the d-pawn free to advance later. Black replies 6...Be6, aiming the bishop at c4. The usual answer is 7. b3, which protects the pawn and scores well for White. 7. O-O and 7. d4 are the main alternatives. The engine gives White a slight edge, and the line is rarely seen.
