The Fianchetto Line (ECO A24), also called the Bremen System with ...g6, arises when Black meets 3. g3 by preparing ...Bg7 and copying White's kingside setup. The g7-bishop adds protection to e5 and contests the long diagonal against its counterpart on g2. White nearly always continues 4. Bg2. The engine gives White a slight edge, and White scores somewhat better in practice, with draws uncommon.
