An eccentric English line where Black answers 1. c4 g5 2. d4 with 2...Bg7, offering the g-pawn in Grob style to pressure d4; White stands clearly better.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Myers Gambit
The Myers Gambit arises when Black meets 1. c4 g5 2. d4 with 2...Bg7. The g5-pawn is left en prise, much as in a reversed Grob. The line is named after Hugh Myers, who promoted 1...g5 in print and over the board. The bishop targets d4, with ...c5 and ...Qb6 to follow. After 3. Bxg5, Black continues 3...c5 for central counterplay. The most common reply is 3. Nc3, which declines the pawn, and engines rate White as clearly better.
