Train it in TheoriaAbout the Leonhardt Defense
The Leonhardt Defense meets the Krause Gambit with 5...Qe7, attacking the knight on e5 and the e4 pawn, the latter weakened by the pin on the c3 knight. The most common reply is 6. Qd3, which protects e4, after which Black chooses among 6...Nxe5, 6...Nxd4 and 6...Bxc3+. White can instead play 6. Nxc6, allowing 6...Qxe4+, which is answered by 7. Be2 or 7. Qe2.
