About the Gunsberg Counterattack

After the Double Spanish, 4...Bb4 5. O-O O-O, White breaks the symmetry with 6. Nd5. Black exchanges with 6...Nxd5 7. exd5, and only then plays 7...e4. The pawn hits the f3 knight while d5 attacks the c6 knight, so both sides face threats at once. Material is level, but White's d-pawns are doubled and the e-file is half-open. The play that follows is forcing and tactical.
