Train it in TheoriaAbout the Bogoljubow Variation
The Bogoljubow Variation arises when White meets the McCutcheon's 4...Bb4 with 5. exd5 rather than 5. e5. After 5...Qxd5 6. Bxf6 gxf6, Black's kingside pawns are left as doubled f-pawns and an isolated h-pawn. In return, Black gets the bishop pair and a half-open g-file. 7. Qd2 reinforces the pinned c3-knight, and 7...Qa5 adds a second attacker against it.
