A rare Grünfeld Defense line from the Lutikov Variation in which White answers ...c5 with Na4, sidestepping the knight exchange and targeting the c5 pawn.

The Murrey Attack arises when Black meets the Lutikov Variation with 4...c5 and White, after 5. cxd5 Nxd5, retreats the knight with 6. Na4 instead of allowing ...Nxc3. From the rim the knight joins the d4 pawn in hitting c5, so Black must deal with that pawn at once. The structure is open, with half-open c- and d-files and only a d-pawn against a c-pawn in the center.
