Train it in TheoriaAbout the Pachman Variation
The Pachman Variation belongs to the Grünfeld lines with an early 4. e3, where White keeps a modest d4-e3 center and shuts in the queen's bishop. After 4...Bg7, the move 5. Qb3 induces 5...dxc4, and White recaptures with the bishop instead of the queen. Following 6. Bxc4 O-O 7. Nf3 Nbd7, the knight jump 8. Ng5 combines with the bishop on c4 and the queen behind it to put pressure on f7. Black has to deal with this before turning to the usual pressure against d4.
