An offbeat Hungarian Opening line where White's waiting move 2. a3 lets Black build a broad center, and White's knight goes to h4 before d3 challenges it.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Burk Gambit
The Burk Gambit is a rare branch of the Hungarian Opening. After 1. g3 e5, White plays the noncommittal 2. a3 and allows 2...d5. Then 3. Nf3 e4 4. Nh4 reaches a Reversed Norwegian setup with a3 added. Black's 4...Be7 eyes the knight and threatens to double White's h-pawns with ...Bxh4. White replies 5. d3, striking at the e4 spearhead to break up Black's pawn chain.
