About the Döry Indian

The Döry Indian, also called the Döry Defense, arises when Black answers 3. Nf3 with 3...Ne4. The knight occupies e4 before White can contest it, at the cost of a second move with the same piece. It is uncommon, though Vienna hosted a theme tournament on it in 1937, won by Paul Keres. 4. Nc3 is the usual reply, with 4. e3 and 4. g3 also played. Some lines transpose to the Queen's Indian, and engines give White a slight edge.
