A rare E10 sideline of the Anti-Nimzo-Indian in which Black answers 3. Nf3 with the noncommittal 3...a6, keeping options open on the queenside.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Dzindzi-Indian Defense
The Dzindzi-Indian Defense arises after 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 a6. Instead of the Queen's Indian 3...b6 or the Bogo-Indian 3...Bb4+, Black makes a flexible pawn move that takes b5 from White's pieces and keeps several setups in reserve. White usually develops with 4. Nc3, with 4. g3 and 4. Bg5 the main alternatives. The line is uncommon, engines give White a slight edge, and White scores well in practice.
