About the Gibbins-Weidenhagen Gambit Accepted

The Gibbins-Weidenhagen Gambit, also called the Bronstein Gambit, is accepted with 2...Nxg4. White's usual follow-up, 3. e4, builds a two-pawn center and gains a tempo, since the queen on d1 now attacks the knight on g4. After 3...Nf6 4. e5 Nd5 5. c4 Nb6 White keeps expanding at the knight's expense. Engines give Black a slight edge for the extra pawn and weakened kingside, yet Lichess results are close to even.
