About the Hicken Variation

In the Hirschbach line 6...Qg5, the Hicken Variation has White meet the counterattack with 7. Qf3 rather than 7. Bxf7+, which is regarded as best. After 7...Qxe5 8. Qxf7+ Kd8, White has two pawns for the knight, and 9. Bb2 develops with tempo against the queen on e5. The black king has lost the right to castle, and White's attack against it decides the game.
