Train it in TheoriaAbout the Dubois Variation
In the Dubois Variation, named after the 1850s Italian master Serafino Dubois, Black answers 5. Ng5 in the Lucchini Gambit with 5...f4. The pawn shuts the c1-bishop off from g5 and threatens ...Qxg5. White most often replies 6. Nf7, forking queen and rook, while 6. Bf7+, forcing the black king to move, is regarded as an error. The strongest reply is 6. h4, which supports the knight and keeps Black's queen from becoming active.
