About the Therkatz-Herzog Variation

The Therkatz-Herzog Variation is the critical line of the Møller Attack, arising after 9. d5 Bf6 10. Re1 Ne7 11. Rxe4 d6 12. Bg5 Bxg5 13. Nxg5 O-O 14. Nxh7. Having regained the pawn, White places the knight where the king can take it, aiming to open the h-file and bring the rook from e4 into the attack. Meanwhile the pawn on d5 restricts Black's pieces. The forcing analysis is reported to end in a draw.
