A rare gambit in the Two Knights Defense where Black answers 5. exd5 with 5...Nb4, hitting d5 again while staying a pawn down for unclear compensation.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Kloss Gambit
The Kloss Gambit replaces the usual 5...Na5 with 5...Nb4, a rarely played try. The knight attacks the d5-pawn a second time, and only the bishop defends it. Black remains a pawn down without clear compensation. The most common reply, 6. d6, removes the pawn from the knight's reach and renews pressure on f7. 6. Bb5+ and 6. a3 are also played, and Black scores better against both. The engine gives White a slight edge.
