A King's Gambit Accepted sideline in which White answers 4...g4 with 5. h4, ruling out ...Qh4+ but leaving the f3-knight open to capture.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Australian Gambit
The Australian Gambit is one of White's fifth-move answers to the twin threats of 5...gxf3 and 5...Qh4+, which arise after 4...g4 in the Classical Variation. Instead of castling into the Muzio Gambit with 5. O-O, White plays 5. h4 and puts a pawn on h4. The pawn stops the queen check, but the f3-knight is still attacked by the g4-pawn. If Black captures it, White is a piece down, and the king has not yet castled.
