About the Boren-Svenonius Variation

The Boren-Svenonius Variation is a branch of the Bledow Variation of the Bishop's Gambit. After 3...d5 4. Bxd5 material is level. Black then checks with 4...Qh4+, which drives the king to f1 and removes White's right to castle. With 5...Bd6 Black develops the king's bishop and gives support to the pawn on f4. The game is open, with half-open d-, e- and f-files.
