Although grouped under the Double Muzio Gambit, this line has White decline the bishop sacrifice and answer 7...Qxe5 with 8. d3, opening the c1-bishop toward f4. Black, a knight and pawns ahead, holds the f4 pawn with 8...Bh6 and develops by 9. Nc3 Ne7 10. Bd2 Nbc6. White's 11. Rae1 brings the rooks onto the open e-file against the black queen and king.
