Train it in TheoriaAbout the Caro Variation
The Caro Variation is White's alternative to the more common 6. exd5 against the Brentano Defense. After 6. d4 Nf6 7. Bxf4, White recovers the f-pawn with a developing move but lets Black take on e4, then questions the centralized knight with 8. Nd2. Black stays a pawn ahead. The e-file is open, the d-pawns face each other, and play revolves around the opposing knights on e4 and e5.
