Train it in TheoriaAbout the Jaenisch Variation
This line of the Kieseritzky Gambit arises when Black props up the g4-pawn with 5...h5, the Long Whip Defense. White answers 6. Bc4, aiming at f7, which forces the clumsy 6...Rh7. The Jaenisch Variation follows with 7. d4 Bh6 8. Nc3. White completes development and builds a d4–e4 center. Black stays a pawn up, but the kingside is loosened and the rook stands awkwardly on h7.
