Train it in TheoriaAbout the Kotov Gambit
The Kotov Gambit is an alternative to the Muzio Gambit. Instead of castling, White meets 4...g4 with 5. d4 and leaves the knight on f3 to be captured. After 5...gxf3 6. Bxf4, White has a broad pawn center on d4 and e4, two active bishops and open lines against Black's king. In return, Black is a full piece ahead and has broken kingside pawns. It is rarely played.
