Train it in TheoriaAbout the Mayet Gambit
The Mayet Gambit arises from the Classical Variation setup 3...g5 4. Bc4 Bg7 5. d4 d6, where White answers with 6. c3, bracing the d4-pawn and keeping a broad center. Black stays a pawn ahead with the f4-g5 chain intact. 6...h6, reinforcing g5, is the most common reply, with 6...Nc6 and 6...Bg4 next. Engines give Black a clear advantage, and Black scores slightly better in practice.
