About the Sarratt Defense

With 6...Qf6 Black covers both f4 and f7, develops the queen and closes the f-file, while threatening 7...Qd4+ to pick up the bishop on c4. It is regarded as the sternest test of White's knight sacrifice, and engines clearly favor Black. The popular 7. c3 is too slow and scores poorly. 7. d3 is the soundest try, and 7. e5 Qxe5 8. Bxf7+ leads to the Double Muzio Gambit. 7. Nc3, the Bello Gambit, is dubious.
