Train it in TheoriaAbout the Weiss Defense
The Weiss Defense answers the Tartakower Gambit (3. Be2) with 3...f5, striking at e4 instead of giving the usual 3...Qh4+ check. After 4. exf5 d6, material is level. Black has returned the gambit pawn but keeps the advanced pawn on f4, and White's only central pawn is the one on f5. The e-file is open, and ...d6 frees the c8-bishop, which eyes f5. It is a sideline of a gambit that is already rarely played.
