Train it in TheoriaAbout the Hungarian Variation
The Hungarian Variation is a flexible version of the Classical setup. Black meets 7. Nc3 with 7...a6 instead of the immediate 7...e5, keeping the e-pawn back for now and preparing queenside play with ...Rb8 and ...b5. White's most common reply by a wide margin is 8. e4, which gains central space. 8. Re1 and 8. Bg5 are seen less often. Engines give White a slight edge, but online results are close to even.
