About the Kozul Gambit

The Kozul Gambit arises in the Neo-Classical Line after 10. Be3 f5 11. f3 f4 12. Bf2 g5 13. Rc1 Ng6. White plays 14. c5 at once, without first bringing the e1-knight to d3. The pawn on d6 and the knight on d7 both bear on c5, and only the f2-bishop guards it, so the pawn is offered. In return White aims to open the c-file and the queenside before Black's kingside pawn storm, built on ...f4 and ...g5, becomes dangerous.
