About the Pomar System

The Pomar System is a King's Indian line in which White pairs the deferred fianchetto, 5. g3 O-O 6. Bg2, with 7. Nge2 after 6...e5, developing the knight to e2 rather than f3. The play is fluid and positional. Black often exchanges with ...exd4 and then presses against e4 and on the dark squares, while White aims at d6. 7...Nc6 is the most popular reply and 7...exd4 the second. Engines judge the position roughly balanced, though White scores well in the small sample of games.
