About the Bobotsov-Korchnoi-Petrosian Variation

The Bobotsov-Korchnoi-Petrosian Variation brings the king's knight to e2 at once with 6. Nge2, in place of the more usual 6. Be3, and so leaves the dark-squared bishop's destination undecided. Black most often answers with the Benoni-style 6...c5, hitting d4 before a bishop on e3 can support it. 6...e5 and 6...Nc6 are the main alternatives. Engines rate the position as roughly balanced.
