Sämisch King's Indian line in which 7. Nge2 c6 8. d5 cxd5 reaches a closed-center structure; White usually recaptures 9. cxd5 with a slight edge.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Main Line
This line arises from the Orthodox Variation, 6...e5, when White keeps the tension with 7. Nge2, Black answers 7...c6, and only then does White advance 8. d5, to which Black replies 8...cxd5. White must now recapture: 9. cxd5 is by far the usual choice, fixing a pawn on d5 and leaving the c-file open for queenside play, while 9. Nxd5 occupies the square with a knight instead. Engines give White a slight edge.
