A rare gambit in which White answers 2...Nc6 with 3. b4, offering the b-pawn for central play; it is considered unsound and Black scores well.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Pachman Wing Gambit
The Pachman Wing Gambit, 3. b4, offers the b-pawn to lure Black's pieces away from e5 and to gain time for c3 and d4. The usual reply is 3...Bxb4, after which 4. c3 chases the bishop and prepares a central pawn duo. Against 3...Nf6, 4. b5 dislodges the c6-knight so that Nxe5 follows, while 3...Nxb4 allows 4. Nxe5. The engine gives Black a clear advantage, and Black scores well in practice.
