Train it in TheoriaAbout the Diepstraten Countergambit
The Diepstraten Countergambit, 3. c4, ignores the attack on e4 and lets Black play 3...fxe4, which White intends to meet with 4. Nxe5. With the c4-square occupied by a pawn, the knight has few retreats once it reaches e5. After 4...Nf6 5. d4?? d6, it is trapped, and Black wins material. The line is treated as dubious, and it remains a curiosity next to the main replies 3. Nxe5 and 3. exf5.
