Train it in TheoriaAbout the Dunworthy Variation
The Dunworthy Variation answers White's 3. c4 with the counterthrust 3...d5, offering a pawn rather than letting White settle into a broad center. After 4. exd5 c6 5. dxc6 Bxd4 Black has recovered the d-pawn but remains a pawn down, with the bishop centralized on d4 and the d-file open. White's extra pawn is part of a doubled pair on the c-file, and the advanced c6-pawn is a likely target. The line is a rare sideline.
