Train it in TheoriaAbout the San Remo Variation
The San Remo Variation comes from the Main Line of the Noa Variation: after 5. a3 Bxc3+ 6. Qxc3 Ne4 7. Qc2 Nc6 8. e3, Black plays 8...e5. Rather than developing more slowly, Black places a second pawn beside d5 and strikes at d4, backed by the knight on c6, while the e4-knight stays centralized. White holds the bishop pair but lags in development and must decide how to handle the central tension.
