About the Bronstein Variation

The Bronstein Variation, classified as ECO E55 and also known as the Parma Variation, meets the exchange on c4 by developing the queen's knight to d7. From there the knight supports c5 and can recapture on that square if White plays dxc5, while ...b6 and ...Bb7 remain available. Black keeps the option of ...cxd4, which can leave White with an isolated queen's pawn. It is reached far less often than other Gligoric System lines.
