Train it in TheoriaAbout the Reshevsky Variation
The Reshevsky Variation, a specialty of Samuel Reshevsky, arises from the Rubinstein System when White meets 4...O-O with 5. Ne2 rather than 5. Bd3 or 5. Nf3. The knight stands ready to recapture on c3, so White keeps the pawn structure intact; the usual plan is a3 to question the bishop, then rerouting the e2-knight to a better square. Black most often replies 5...d5, and the main line 6. a3 Be7 7. cxd5 allows either 7...exd5 or the livelier 7...Nxd5. Mikhail Gurevich is regarded as its leading modern exponent. Engines rate the position as level.
